Terence Crawford vs. Kell Brook had been reported but now it’s official for November 14. The WBO Title fight was announced after Teofimo Lopez stunned the boxing world with his unanimous decision victory over Vasiliy Lomachenko. This will be Crawford’s fourth WBO Welterweight Title defense. Crawford vs. Brook will air live on the major ESPN network. The prelims will be airing on ESPN+.
Here’s what Top Rank Boxing’s Bob Arum had to say on making Crawford vs. Brook official. Kell Brook is one of the elite fighters in the world. He has faced so many of the top boxers. He is a real test for pound-for-pound great Terence Crawford. This is another premium fight that will be available to boxing fans for no extra charge live on ESPN.
Terence isn’t too much younger than me. They know that I’ve never ducked a challenge, and they should know that I’ve never failed to make 147 on the scales. With age comes experience. My knowledge and experience make me a different fighter, a more mature fighter. Couple that with a happy fighter, and you’ve got yourself a dangerous fighter.
Crawford is considered to be the pound-for-pound best boxer on the list of many pundits and fans. Up to this point, he has been perfect with a record of 36-0. In 27 of those wins, Crawford has scored a knockout or TKO. Things are a bit different in Brook’s camp for this massive title fight. His longtime trainer, Dominic Ingle, will not be in his corner for the fight. Ingle cited not wanting to travel to Spain, where Brook is training, during the COVID-19 pandemic as the main reason.
